Mary Beth came to American Samoa to teach Art in 1997. She was exposed to Siapo by several local artists including Marylyn Walker. She soon developed strong friendships with these artists. Through these friendships and her interest in Siapo, over the years, Mary Beth became the very talented Siapo artist she is today. Mary Beth continues to create and teach Siapo in the tradition handed down to her by her friends and mentors.
